The Alliance Association is launching Les Brainstormings d'Alliance, a series of events designed to encourage reflection between peers and academic institutions on cross-cutting issues affecting technology, innovation and industrialization. The first Brainstorming will focus on an issue raised by Medtronic SA: the automation of final product aesthetic quality control, followed by presentations by Vahid Fakhfouri and Laurent Brulport from qmt, and Professor Yuri Lopez de Meneses from HE-Arc's Metrology and Machine Vision Laboratory.
Presentation
Final inspection of the aesthetic quality of products is a decisive stage in the production process for many industrial sectors. Aesthetic imperfections can not only result in financial losses, when customers decide not to buy or use the product, but can also damage a company's reputation. Ensuring that every product launched on the market meets aesthetic requirements is therefore essential. In this context, automation could be the solution to many problems, such as human resources and the time required for inspection, or yield and precision.
However, automation also faces a number of challenges: repeatability of control, smaller margins of error than with human controls, cost of implementation, validation of automated means by the authorities, etc. Switching from human to automated control of product aesthetics is neither obvious nor self-evident. So should we take the plunge and automate our aesthetic quality control processes? And if so, what problems are likely to arise, and how can they be resolved? The Alliance Association invites you to think about this and to share your experiences, between peers and academic institutions, to better understand the challenges of automating quality control and to consider together relevant solutions for your company.
On November 17, 2022, from 4pm to 6pm, come and brainstorm with Medtronic on quality control automation, and discover qmt 's expertise and the research of Prof. Yuri Lopez de Meneses, from the Metrology and Machine Vision Center at HE-Arc.
Alliance Brainstormings are reserved for members of the Alliance Association. To find out if your company is a member, click here. To become an Association Alliance member, follow this link.
